Natural Resources Wales manages the natural resources of Wales. The Welsh Government sponsored body has approximately 2000 employees and was formed from a merger of the Countryside Council for Wales, Environment Agency Wales, and the Forestry Commission Wales, and also assumes some other roles formerly taken by Welsh Government.
NRW plays a critical national security role in environmental conservation, flood defence, warnings and regulation of commercial activities, with the objective of avoiding or mitigating environmental harm.
The body required an appropriately skilled and qualified provider to gain an important security accreditation, to provide independent assurance of cyber hygiene to their executive team and stakeholders.
CNS' position as the leading UK provider of Cyber Essentials Certification services, the only CREST approved Penetration Testing company headquartered in Wales, and one of very few Cisco partners worldwide able to offer CCIE subject matter expert services, placed CNS toward the top of the shortlist.
This led to our assisting in many other cyber security related matters, requiring appropriately qualified and vetted personnel and we are proud to have now worked with Natural Resources Wales since 2016
What we did
“Having screened for accreditation, vetting and qualification baselines, we were pleased to commission a local Welsh provider to further develop our in-house cyber security capability to world standards.
“Capital Network Solutions’ specialist services and knowledge of large-scale enterprise networks such as ours have been instrumental in allowing us to invest and progress in this area.
“From helping us achieve important accreditations to keeping us in the vanguard of international cyber security knowledge and practices, working with Capital Network Solutions allows us to keep Wales’ natural resources secure and drive a green recovery.”
