The visit is focused on 'Cyber Security of Operational Technology' and comprises of seminars focused on cyber risks faced by Estonian Industry with solutions presented by UK based cyber security companies.
Estonia has become a significant recipient of cyber attacks mainly resulting from high profile disagreements between themselves and Russia. Most notably in 2007, Estonia angered Russia by relocating a Soviet World War II memorial located in Tallinn which caused great offence in Russia. A series of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks were launched which took all of Estonia offline causing significant disruption and impact to both Government and the Private Sector.
With a focus on the cyber risks faced by Estonian Industry and critical national infrastructure, Mark will be sharing his expertise in methods of cyber risk reduction. Meeting with high-level decision-makers of Estonian industrial and critical infrastructure companies, Mark is keen to develop strategic relationships and demonstrate how Capital Network Solutions can assist in reducing the threat posed to major industries.
"Cyber threats are emerging and evolving continually and the risk posed to critical and national infrastructure is significant," commented Mark. "The UK has over 2000 cyber security companies ranging from major international firms to smaller specialists such as CNS, so to be involved in sharing our knowledge and the potential commercial opportunities that may arise in countries that have a skills shortage is really exciting."
